Dental Implants | All-on-4 | Financing | Best in South Bay

Dental implants are the premier replacement of teeth and are indicated for teeth that are missing or for teeth that have been broken down due to decay, gum disease, or trauma. Dental implants have been proven to be a predictable method for the replacement of missing teeth and have been shown to have a high success rate when placed properly and with proper planning.

Dental implants look, feel, and function like natural teeth with the added benefit of preserving bone in the area they were placed and reducing the chance of bone loss.

Pacific Smiles Dental Implant Center and Dr. Kim's team are one of the best-rated dental implant providers in South Bay and the greater Los Angeles area. With services ranging from single implants, to All-On-4 full mouth teeth replacement, you won't be in better hands anywhere else.

If you have one or more missing teeth, Dental implants have many advantages over a bridge or removable partial and denture:

  • Conservation – When replacing a single tooth, dental implants function like an individual unit. So neighboring teeth next to a missing area do not have to be altered or drilled down in order to make room for a bridge (Of course there are pros and cons to both bridges and implants). More of your teeth are left untouched, which is a long term benefit to your oral health.
  • Gain In Confidence – Since dental implants function like natural teeth and are not removable, they will allow you to speak and eat with comfort and confidence again! No more worrying about uncomfortable partials, loose dentures, or denture adhesive.

How does the dental implant process work?

The process begins with a simple consultation and a 3D-CT scan (see pictures alongside this paragraph). During the consultation, Dr. Kim will evaluate your scan with you, then “virtually” plan the ideal position of the dental implant in relation to the other teeth while most importantly making sure all vital structures are avoided, such as nerves and the sinus.

Through this technology, since the implants are “virtually” placed before the actual procedure has taken place, the planned position can be duplicated with a computer generated surgical guide meaning a far less liklihood of any problems. This surgical guide will then guide the implant safely into place, significantly reducing surgical time while often excluding the need for any incisions or even sutures. The overall benefit is a very safe, well-planned and executed implant with minimal post-operative discomfort.

Is there a difference between dental implant in the front or the back of the mouth?

There is a huge difference between types of dental implants placed in the front and for them to be placed in the back. When placed in the back, dental implants must be functional but it’s not as important for them to be perfectly aesthetic-looking, since they are not really seen by other people. However, when replacing teeth in the front with dental implants, especially the teeth in the center, having dental implants placed in the right position and having a crown placed in that looks like a natural tooth and not a fake “white” tooth is absolutely crucial to the look of your overall smile. Because of Dr. Kim’s advanced knowledge of Cosmetic Dentistry and Dental Implant Surgery (Inlcuding All-On-4 Procedures), he is able to provide World Class Dental Implant Esthetics and care under one roof.

What Kind of Dental Implant Does Dr. Kim Place?

The honest fact is that whether a Dental Implant is a generic clone or a premium implant, they all work! So while generic or clone implants have been proven to be very successful in a wide variety of applications, Dr. Kim has made the decision to not use generic or clone implants because they are essentially copies of well known implants, but utilizing old technology.

Having used multiple systems in the last 10 years, starting with Straumann, then Astra, Dr. Kim has selected the Neodent GM Dental Implant as his go-to implant. It is a Premium Implant with years of proven success and has cutting edge features in regards to the surface treatment and connection type. He believes it is the future of dental implants, as many of the major three implant companies are now starting to come out with their own versions of implants which duplicate the Megagen Anyridge Implant design.
